The legal limit for tread on your tyres in the UK is 1.6mm. If you're caught with tread lower than this you risk penalty points so we recommend regularly checking. For your own personal safety we recommend not allowing your tread to fall below 2mm particularly during cold spells (in Germany the limit is 5.6mm!).
