Where can I find cheap budget tyres online?

When it comes to purchasing a new set of tyres for your car, there is an almost endless amount of choice at your disposal. Prices can be quite steep compared to franchised dealers, but if you are any good at haggling, then you can generally push for a price that’s reasonable.

·         Franchised dealers – if you are looking for tyres then the most common place to purchase them is from a franchised dealer who can stock a variety of ‘common’ tyres, meaning that finding the right one can be quite difficult.

·         Online sellers – in the current age, buying your tyres has never been easier thanks to the internet as you are now able to search from an almost endless amount of tyres to find the product you are looking for. Prices can vary but they will also be at a set rate, so don’t expect to barter.

Your tyre size guide

If you don’t know what you’re looking for, look at the diagram below:

Your tyre size is on the sidewall of the tyre, the sidewall of the tyre is the part that you can see when you look at your tyre on your vehicle.

On the sidewall you will see a series of numbers, these numbers are the actual size of your tyre.

If you look at the picture below we have highlighted the Width, Profile, Rim Size, Load Rating & Speed Rating.

A Tyre width

the width of the tyre, measured in millimetres.

B Tyre profile

The height of a tyre sidewall as a precentage of the width.

C Tyre size

The diametre of the wheel's inner rim, measured in inches.

D Speed rating

Indicates the maximum speed for the tyre.
